We specialise in providing the continuity of care that will make clients feel proud to be part of the Equitait family.

  • a minimum of 2 years’ full time (or part time equivalent) equine experience;
  • excellent clinical standards and communication skills;
  • proficiency in efficiently managing their own case load;
  • experience in equine dentistry;
  • a desire and the skills to help expand and develop the practice and create a key role for themselves within the team;

Accommodation: A tax free housing allowance of £500 pcm can be supplied for rented properties.  We would prefer the successful candidate to live in the Scottish Borders with a TD postcode, although certain EH postcodes would be considered.

We can supply a vehicle for work or arrange a package if the successful candidate already has a vehicle.

The practice’s main base is near Duns, an hour away from Edinburgh, and we have an additional base in St. Boswells, both in the beautiful Scottish Borders.

We have recently completed a renovation project at the practice with new clinical and office buildings; including stocks, examination area, stabling, trot up area and stud facilities. This allows us to carry out a more advanced clinical case load and further diagnostic, surgical and reproductive procedures on site.

We have a varied first opinion equine caseload with the skills, experience and opportunity to work more complicated cases up to a high level when required. Full support and back-up is provided from an easy-going practice owner.

We regularly use digital radiography, ultrasonography, endoscopy including gastroscopy, and motorised dental equipment to assist in our work.

The caseload is a great mixture of pleasure horses through to competition sport horses, including racing and stud work.
